We are excited to release the “Rendering in Redshift” series. In part one we use one main light source to simplify and understand how global illumination work in Redshift. By using one main light source (Sky&Sun Rig) we set a challenging limitation that helps show how GI in Redshift operates. We also explore how different samples in our scene can be optimised effectively with the Global illumination in our scene. This video offers a simple but effective overview of Global illumination in Redshift to help you understand the technical process rendering in redshift while speeding up your renders.
We have updated to the newest version of Redshift which now has Aces. In part 2 we take the scene in Part one and speed up the render time but also add more light. We take a look at using a dome light with a HDRi. Then we follow up with looking into trace depth and how it can be used to build accurate refraction and reflections.
